The reasons that affect the service life of the battery include:


1. Discharge depth

According to the actual measurement, a 48V golf cart with motor power of 3000W is used in the level golf course as an example: the energy consumption of the lead-acid battery for each 18 hole task is about 60ah, so that the energy consumption for completing two ball tasks every day is about 120ah, and the daily discharge depth of the golf cart has reached more than 70%; if it is a mountain course, the golf cart has 36 holes every day The discharge depth reaches 80% or even higher, so the service life of lead-acid battery can only reach one to one and a half years. The deeper the discharge depth is, the greater the probability of backward battery will be, and the aging of battery will be accelerated.


2. Battery vulcanization

The main reason why the lead-acid battery can no longer be used normally is that the plate is full of layers of hard and dense white lead sulfate crystals, which can not be converted into active substances when charging, thus reducing the discharge capacity of the battery and making it "suffocate" finally. This process is called vulcanization. There are many reasons for vulcanization, including over deep discharge, under charge and long-term use. As time goes on, vulcanization will greatly reduce the performance of lead-acid battery and shorten its life. The direct symptom of vulcanization is that the driving range of the ball car becomes shorter, in fact, the battery capacity decreases. Only by thoroughly solving the vulcanization problem of lead-acid battery can the service life of battery be really extended.

Many users only add distilled water regularly and pass discharge detection for battery maintenance of the ball car. This method can not solve the problem of battery vulcanization. The equilibrium charging can reduce part of lead sulfate to active substance, but it also depends on the size of the crystal. The larger possibility is to mechanically separate the accumulated crystal from the surface of the plate (caused by violent gas evolution), which increases the contact area between the plate and the electrolyte, but the cost is the falling off of the active substance.
